Courses You Will Take

The Identity and Leadership Development for Counselors Certificate is a 12 credit-hour program, requiring four of the following courses, and can be completed within two summers.

Except for the live-onsite workshop that is part of the required CPSY 601 course, all of the courses are available 100 percent online. CPSY 601 should be taken first but the sequence of the remaining courses can vary. Course work must be completed within five years of declaring certificate candidacy. Credit may be awarded within the time frame for courses taken prior to admission.

• CPSY 678: Theories and Techniques of Counseling the Culturally Diverse (3 credit hours)
  or, EDAD 630: Human Resource Development (3 credit hours)
  
  
• CPSY 609: Counseling Ethics and Professional Issues (3 credit hours)
  or, EDAD 686: School Law (3 credit hours)
