Request for Distance Education ID Card

A distance education student identification card allows you to use on-campus computer labs and library services on our main campus in Muncie.

An ID card is only required if you plan to come to campus to use the library or labs. However, some people like to get a student ID card because it allows them to qualify for discounts at some local stores, restaurants, or movie theaters.

Get Your ID Card
There are two ways to get a distance education identification card:

  • Fill out this online form and get your card within two weeks.
  • Get your card immediately, by going to the Registrar's Office in Room B43 of Lucina Hall on Ball State's main campus and present a picture ID such as a driver's license or credit card with your photo. The Registrar's Office is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters and weekdays from 7:30-4 p.m. during the summer.

Other Information
Access to other Ball State services and facilities, such as the Health Center or recreation centers, is not available to online and distance students unless you have paid on-campus dedicated fees.

There is no charge to get an ID, but if it is lost or stolen the replacement cost is $10.
