Scholarships and Financial Aid
Several opportunities are available for scholarships, awards, and financial aid for graduate students.
The Ball State Alumni Association offers the Alumni Association Distinguished Thesis and Alumni Association Distinguished Dissertation awards. In 2009, the distinguished thesis award was given for “Sheng: The Mixed Language of Nairobi” to English doctoral student Philip W. Rudd who also earned a Fulbright-Hays grant to study linguistics in Africa.
Also consider the Francis Mayhew Rippy Graduate Scholarship, the Dr. Janet Ross Scholarship for Teachers of English as a Second Language, the Voss English Research Award, and the Midwest Writers Workshop Scholarship, as well as grants and assistantships.
Additional financial aid opportunities are available, too.
