I specialize in the writing, editing, and publishing of fiction and teach freshman Writing Program courses and introduction to creative writing. My fiction has appeared in
Colorado Review,
Puerto del Sol, Confrontation, Massachusetts Review, and You Must Be This Tall to Ride. I co-edit
Freight Stories with faculty member and fiction writer Andrew Scott; we have published many nationally renowned writers, among them Lee Martin, Robin Black, Daniel Wallace, Larry Watson, and Robert Boswell.
I also serve as editor and publisher of
Engine Books, an independent fiction press; current titles include
Shambles and
On the Outskirts of Normal by Debra Monroe and
Other Heartbreaks by National Book Award finalist Patricia Henley; future titles include novels by Myfanwy Collins and Sybil Baker and a story collection by Gregory Spatz, among others.
