Child Life Specialists primarily work with children from infancy to adolescence in a hospital setting to provide support and assistance to families and their hospitalized child. The Child Life Specialist works alongside doctors, nurses, and other pediatric therapists. Course work includes classes from multiple disciplines to provide the student with a solid academic background and one-on-one experiences with young children. Following their internship, with 480 hours experience, students are eligible to sit for the Certified Child Life Specialist Exam.
