Family and Consumer Sciences

Life After Ball State

Whether you plan to enter into an engaging career within one of the many fields within family and consumer sciences (FCS) or continue your education, we want to be a supportive partner in your journey. A degree in family and consumer sciences opens the doors to a variety of fulfilling career paths dedicated to improving people’s lives.

Our graduates go on to direct child development programs or work as therapists. The didactic program prepares students to oversee community nutrition initiatives or advance in the clinical setting. Interior and apparel design graduates serve various governmental and private firms. Family studies majors counsel individuals and families across the life cycle. For more information about these and other pathways available to you, visit the Career Lab in Lucina Hall, room 235.
