Fashion Merchandising

Audrey Robbins completed a Master's of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, with an emphasis in fashion. She has gone on to become an instructor in the FCS Department, teaching a variety of fashion courses both on campus and online.

Serving as a graduate assistant in the FCS department while taking graduate-level courses gave Audrey her first introduction to teaching. "Teaching helped me realize the enthusiasm I have for helping students understand the fashion industry. I found it incredibly rewarding to see students develop their knowledge of the industry and wanting to learn more." This experience led Audrey to a position in higher education after graduation.

Audrey also developed her research skills as a Ball State graduate student, which serve her well in her teaching position. "My graduate studies at Ball State gave me the opportunity to develop and apply new research methods to the fashion area."

Reflecting on the personalization and individual attention she received as a graduate student in Family and Consumer Sciences, Audrey states "The program was versatile in allowing me to choose courses that were a good fit for my concentration."
