Residential Property Management

The undergraduate minor in Residential Property Management allows students to develop a basic foundation of knowledge related to the apartment industry through courses in housing, maintenance, marketing and leasing, customer service, and others.

The RPM minor is available to any Ball State student. Many students pursuing majors in interior design, general studies, business, and others have selected the RPM minor to complement their academic training. Some have gone on to obtain employment in the property management industry, while others have used the RPM minor as a prerequisite to graduate work in residential property management.

As a result of the relationship with the National Apartment Association Education Institute, students pursuing the RPM minor are eligible to sit for the National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) designation exam. Ball State students have a long history of success with the NALP exam. 

Distance education students may pursue the undergraduate RPM minor through the Independent Learning Program. A variety of courses are available in a 10-week online format which may be started at any time.
