Comprehensive Geography

What a time to be studying geography. Scientists, politicians, educators, and corporate leaders are dealing with issues such as global warming, drought, air quality, conflicts in the Middle East, and more.

All of these issues have something in common: they each occur in particular places, and those places—their physical setting and cultural condition—greatly influence events and our understanding of them. But how are we to make sense of it all?

Geography is how. It is the one discipline that studies the nature of place and can legitimately analyze these global relationships.

In this option, you will learn the basics of physical and social geography. You’ll also get the opportunity to learn more about maps by taking a required cartography course. Learn more about the course work, career opportunities, and minors that pair well with this option.
