Research Opportunities

Earning a master's degree in geography will give you a variety of research opportunities.

You will have the opportunity to work in the state-of-the-art Meteorology and Climatology Lab and the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Lab.

Our faculty work on a variety of research, and you will have the opportunity to work with us. Our expertise includes climatology and meteorology, GIScience (cartography, remote sensing, and geographic information systems), travel and tourism, ethnic geography, political geography, environmental hazards, and much more. 

Here are some recent examples of master's degree recipients and thesis titles:

  • Holly M. Widen (Advisor: J. Coleman): The Influence of the North American Oscillation on Seasonal Snowfall Totals in the Northeastern United States, 1961-2010
