Graduate Certificate's and Master's Degree Study

At Ball State, we have two tiers of admission criteria for students who wish to pursue a graduate certificate or a master’s degree: 1) minimum standards for the Graduate School and 2) criteria specific to the degree program set be the academic department. 

To work towards a graduate certificate, you must meet the minimum admission requirements for a master's degree program (master's admission). If accepted, you will be classified as a nondegree student.

PLEASE NOTE:  Meeting the minimum requirements for Graduate School does not guarantee admission into your desired certificate and degree program.
