In memory of faculty who passed away during their tenure. Awarded to outstanding undergraduate history students. Recipients are selected and notified.
Althea Stoeckel- Presented to a freshman history major or social studies teaching major concentrating in history and must have taken at least half of her/his course work at Ball State. The scholarship is to be applied towards tuition or books.
N. Merrill Rippy - Presented to a sophomore history major or social studies teaching major concentrating in history and must have taken at least half of her/his course work at Ball State. The scholarship is to be applied towards tuition or books.
Lester Schmidt - Presented to a junior history major or social studies teaching major concentrating in history and must have taken at least half of her/his course work at Ball State. The scholarship is to be applied towards tuition or books.
Robert A. LaFollette - Presented to a senior history major or social studies teaching major concentrating in history and must have taken at least half of her/his course work at Ball State. The scholarship is to be applied towards tuition or books.
Lawrence Birken - Presented to a graduate student with the overall highest GPA. Must be a history major or Social Studies teaching major concentrating in history; must have taken at least half of course work at Ball State. The Scholarship is to be applied towards tuition or books.
