At Ball State, research is right at the tip of your fingers. With our extensive amount of resources, you’ll probably have a hard time choosing topics for class requirements.
Bracken Library holds more than 1.8 million volumes of books, periodicals, microforms, audiovisual materials, software, maps, archival records, and much more! On campus, you can undertake original research using the Sir Norman Angell papers- which spans his entire career as a political writer- the Stoeckel Archives, and the collection at the
Center for Middletown Studies.
Primary research also can be pursued at several readily accessible institutions in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Chicago. The
Richard Burkhardt Building, our department’s home, also houses the
Social Studies Materials Center for students involved in the
social studies program.
