Internship site supervisors are responsible for developing assignments that simultaneously meet their organization's needs and are of value to the student interns.

The history department's academic internship director works closely with both the site supervisor and the student to design an internship position description and portfolio project that make appropriate use of the student's skills and knowledge as a history major.

At the conclusion of the internship, the departmental internship director will determine the student's grade in consultation with the site supervisor. The grade is based upon the quality of the work performed during the internship, as well as the portfolio project and written assignments submitted to the departmental director.
