Major Scholarships: Compete for valuable freshman honors scholarships, as well as major national and international scholarships and fellowships as an advanced student. Learn more

Honors Courses: Take special classes that can substitute for nearly half of Ball State’s required core curriculum, and earn honors credit for regular university courses. Learn more

Honors Colloquiums: In upper-level honors discussion courses, explore special interest topics not normally offered in the university’s standard curriculum. Learn more

Priority Scheduling: Schedule your classes before other Ball State students so you get the courses you need to complete your individualized academic program.

Library Loans: Check out books from the University Libraries for a full academic year--rather than the standard two weeks--so you can complete your challenging academic work.

Honors Housing: Combine residence hall living with honors learning in Johnson Complex, where you can build a social network and informally interact with faculty at special events. Learn more

Peer Mentors: During your first semester, meet weekly with an upper-level honors student who will help freshmen get familiar with the Honors College, Ball State, Muncie, and college life. Learn more

Curriculum Planning: Receive specialized academic advising from the Honors College to plan your course of study both as a freshman and after declaring a major. Learn more

Study Abroad: Expand your horizons through Honors College programs in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Paris, Greece, or Rome, or spend a semester at another university in the United States. Learn more

Honors Fellowships: Work closely with a faculty mentor on a research project that will enhance your academic experience, and get paid doing it. Learn more

Student Honors Council: Get involved in the Student Honors Council and other honors organizations on campus to enhance your leadership and service experience. Learn more

Student Publications: Contribute to the Honors College newsletter and creative magazine, or submit articles to national journals.  Learn more

Honors Conferences: Participate and present your work at meetings of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC), Mid-East Honors Association (MEHA), and other organizations. Learn more

Special Events: Receive invitations to participate in special university events or meet with visiting faculty, lecturers, or distinguished university guests in small group settings.

Graduate Recognition: Receive special recognition at the university’s commencement ceremony, on your official transcripts, and through individual Honors College awards. Learn more
