As a Ball State honors student, you don’t have to look far for opportunities to share your research or creative work with regional and national audiences. A variety of conferences and journals enable you to display your skills for your peers, respected faculty, and even professionals.
Some undergraduate research may be presented or published in regular professional conferences and journals in the appropriate discipline. Ask professors or advisors in your major about venues specifically for students in your area of study.
It is more common, however, to present or publish work in places that focus on undergraduate research. Ball State Honors College students frequently participate as presenters at the following conferences:
Travel expenses for students who present at NCHC or attend MEHA are paid by the Honors College. Contact the Honors College office or the directors of the Student Honors Council for information about presenting at these conferences.

Undergraduate Research ConferenceEvery April, students from Ball State and other schools throughout Indiana and contiguous states meet at Butler University and present the results of research projects on which they have been working.
National Conference on Undergraduate ResearchAlso in April, this major event at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) draws students, faculty, and administrators in all disciplines to discuss undergraduate creative and scholarly work.
PublicationsNumerous journals sponsor or accept undergraduate submissions for publication. Many are refereed according to standard professional criteria. Mercyhurst College maintains an online guide: Undergraduate Journals and Conferences Directory.
