Boren Scholarships and Fellowships (NSEP)
Undergraduate and graduate study abroad of languages, cultures, and world regions outside of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Undergraduate Scholarships deadline: February 8, 2018 (campus deadline: January 9, 2018)
Graduate Fellowships deadline: January 30, 2018 (campus deadline: January 9, 2018)

Critical Language Scholarship
Fully-funded summer program for undergraduate and graduate students to go abroad and study a language critical to United States national security.
Deadline: November 15, 2017

DAAD Scholarships
Study or research in Germany in any field. Various scholarship opportunities are available to both graduates and undergraduates.
Deadline: Varies by scholarship program
Major graduate study deadlines: November 1 or 4, 2017
Major undergraduate study deadlines: Late January, 2018

Fulbright Program
Study, research, or teach English abroad (beyond the bachelor's degree) in any field to increase cross-cultural understanding. Recipients usually plan their own program of study.
Deadline: October 6, 2017 (campus deadline: September 1, 2017 at noon)

Gates Cambridge Scholarships
One to four years of study at Cambridge University, beyond a first bachelor's degree, to improve the lives of the world's citizens.
Deadline: October 11, 2017

Gilman Scholarships
Supports study abroad for undergraduate students receiving Federal Pell Grants.
Deadlines: October 3, 2017 (for spring) and March 6, 2018 (for fall) and either deadline for summer.

Goldwater Scholarships
Undergraduate study aimed at a career in science, math, or engineering.
Deadline: January 26, 2018 (campus deadline: November 15, 2017)

Knight-Hennessy Scholarship
Graduate study at Stanford University.
Deadline: September 27, 2017

Madison Fellowships
Master's level study for individuals who plan to teach American history, American government, and/or social studies in grades 7-12.
Deadline: March 1, 2018

Marshall Scholarships
Undergraduate and graduate study in any discipline at a university in the United Kingdom.
Deadline: October 2, 2017 (campus deadline: August 25, 2017)
Pre-application for 2018 competition: April 20, 2018

Mitchell Scholarships
Graduate study in Ireland and Northern Ireland.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Fellowships
Graduate research in the mathematical, physical, biological, engineering, and behavioral and social sciences. For women, also graduate research in engineering or computer and information science and engineering.

Graduate study at Oxford University.

U.K. Fulbright Summer Institutes
3-6 week institutes for U.S. students to participate in an academic program and learn about the culture of the U.K.
