Internship Portfolio Requirement

To receive credit for your internship, you will be required to submit a portfolio when the internship ends.

The internship coordinator will keep the internship portfolio that you submit for internship credit. If you want a copy of this project, you need to make two copies of your work—one for the coordinator and one for yourself. Your portfolio will be used to better educate future students about internships and their internship requirements.

The internship portfolio must be no larger than 8½ by 11 inches. Below is a list of the work that needs to be included in your internship portfolio. The work also should appear in the order listed:

  • clear plastic cover sheet
  • title page (your name, major, location of internship, internship supervisor with e-mail and phone number, semester and year of internship, etc.)
  • contents page
  • picture of you on the job. (Please e-mail the same picture and/or other pictures of yourself to the internship coordinator to be kept in an archive for use in journalism department annual reports, Web site, etc.—action shots are preferable.)
  • copies of the work produced during the internship. (Keep like items together; photocopies and originals are acceptable.)
  • a copy of your goals summary statement paper
  • a copy of each of your weekly reports
  • a copy of your assessment (final three-page report)
  • an up-to-date résumé that includes your internship experience
  • black plastic cover sheet
  • bind with comb binder. (Businesses such as Fed Ex, Kinko’s, Hiatt Printing, and the Ball State University Bookstore can bind your project.)
