Assistant Professor of Journalism
Dr. Kimberly Lauffer joined the Ball State journalism faculty in 2016 as an assistant professor of journalism graphics. Prior to joining Ball State’s faculty, Lauffer was a journalism instructor at Bowling Green State University, preceded by four and a half years as Alma College’s web editor. Before joining Alma College’s Communication and Marketing Office, she was a tenured journalism faculty member at Towson University, where she also served a year as assistant provost for undergraduate studies. Her other journalism and public relations experience includes participating in a professional internship at The Morning Sun in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, volunteering as electronic newsletter editor for WYPR (Baltimore, Maryland), acting as temporary editor for The Business Monthly (Columbia, Maryland), serving as editorial assistant at Hockey Player Magazine, and performing web design, publication design and photography for private clients and non-profit organizations through her limited liability corporation, Serenity Design Services.
