Professional Experience:
Before becoming a contract faculty member at Ball State, McNames was assistant director of the Ball State Journalism Workshops, where she promoted, organized and taught emerging media workshop experiences for high school students and their advisors. She also has worked as a designer at the Ball State Center for Media Design and a freelance reporter for CiNWeekly and Metromix in Cincinnati and M Magazine in Muncie, Indiana.

Research/Creative/Publication Interests:
Megan's interests include digital storytelling, interaction design, graphics design and multimedia. She teaches primarily in Ball State's interdisciplinary digital media minor, an online program serving students from across the university seeking foundation knowledge and skills in digital and emerging media.

Research/Creative/Publication Career Highlights:
Megan was part of a user experience design team that designed and developed Debate 2012, a "second-screen" iPad app that delivered political news and real-time social media discourse to viewers of the three televised 2012 presidential debates. In 2012 she received an award for professional service from Ball State's College of Communication, Information, and Media.
