Five academic areas of study are currently offered through the School of Kinesiology. These include teaching physical education, exercise science and wellness, sport administration, athletic training, and aquatics.
The Aquatics Program offers the most comprehensive aquatics degree in the country. You will take courses in facilities management, pool operations, and facilities design and gain an outstanding knowledge of aquatics. Several courses include certifications in aquatics management, operations, lifesaving, as well as electives like SCUBA diving.
Athletic Training Program
The Ball State Athletic Training Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and leads to Board of Certification Exam Eligibility. Many high school and off-campus sports medicine professionals and facilities are integrated into the clinical education program.
Exercise Science Program
The Exercise Science Program is designed to prepare students for entry level positions in the exercise and fitness field, or for post-graduate study in exercise science or other health-related disciplines. The program is also designed to prepare students for appropriate professional organization certifications.
Sport Administration Program
The Sport Administration Program is the first stand-alone sport administration degree program in the state. We are committed to producing high quality graduates by providing an innovative curriculum that embraces the campus' commitment to immersive learning.
Teacher Education Program
The Health and Physical Education Program is one of only 3 universities in Indiana to earn national recognition. Our program provides an outstanding preparation for students as evidenced by a passing rate of 100% by our students on the National Teaching Exam (PRAXIS II).
