Join our Alumni Mentorship Program! As a graduate of the sport administration program you give our current students a unique opportunity to see what life is like after graduation. This is your chance to be a part of the Ball State Sport Administration legacy.

Once selected as a mentor by one or more current students, you have the opportunity to advise your student(s) about:

  • Academic Guidance (course selection, study skills, graduate school planning)
  • Career Advice (job shadowing, résumé critiques, interviewing tips, general career guidance)
  • Personal Development (networking, hobbies, recreation)

It is both the mentor and the student’s responsibility to keep in regular contact with each other. Check in with your student(s) at least once a week or a couple of times a month and respond to them in a timely manner. Opportunities for interaction include:

  • On-campus end of the year dinner/mixer
  • Ball State athletic events
  • Students shadowing you at work
  • Networking luncheons
  • LinkedIn Connections
  • Guest Speaker Opportunities (in class or via Skype)
  • Other sport organization events
  • Volunteer opportunities

Even if you do not live near Ball State, you are still encouraged to mentor a student via phone, email or online.

If you would like to be an alumni mentor, contact Eric Klosterman for more information.
