Option 1: Middle School

If you’re ready to work with students during a time when they need their critical thinking skills sharpened, our middle school option is for you. We have found that teaching math at the middle school level is important in a student’s development as they have lots of energy and a deep thirst for learning new things.

Our middle school teaching option is designed to help you develop the necessary skills for teaching math in middle schools. You will take core classes in math and additional general education classes in the Teachers College. You will take several math classes including calculus, which will be the highest math you take in this option. You will also learn practices to keep the classroom atmosphere positive.

This option is strictly for students interested in teaching middle school only; however, our secondary school option will give you the skills needed for teaching middle and high schools. In addition, you will gain practical experience through observing and teaching in middle school and high school classrooms.
