Silvey Shamsi is a research graduate assistant at the Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State University. She is pursuing a master’s in business administration in the Miller College of Business. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Jahangirnagar University (Bangladesh).
Shamsi is an active member of several international organizations, including the American Economic Association, the American Statistical Association, and Beta Gamma Sigma. She presented her research paper on regression lines not based on least square estimates at the American Statistical Association’s Joint Statistical Meeting, July 2016. She participated in the international Social Business Pedia in 2015.
Shamsi has an international education, attending schools in Bangladesh, Eritrea, and Libya before continuing her education in the United States. Her social activities include singing, poetry, creative writing, and choreography. Her future aspirations include earning a doctorate and advocating for women.
