Marilyn Flowers, Professor of Economics, earned doctorate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1974. Before joining Ball State in 1990, she taught at University of Oklahoma (1974-1990). She was the department chairperson between 1999 and 2004. Flowers' teaching interests include public finance and public choice.
