Dr. Phil Howard (BSBA, MBA, JD) received his law degree (Juris Doctor) from the University of Detroit School of Law and his Bachelors and MBA degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He has taught 11 different courses at BSU in the areas of Real Estate, Personal Finance and Business Law (including International Business Law and Law for Small Business). Additionally, he has taught classes for officers at Grissom Air Force Base, as well as for prisoners at the Pendleton Correctional Facility. Dr. Howard has published in the Journal of Education for Business, Journal of Professional Services Marketing, International Academy of Business and Economics, North American Economics and Finance Association International Symposium, Review of Business Research and various regional and national proceedings of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. Since 1986 he has served as the Director of Continuing Legal Education Programs for lawyers held at Ball State. His research areas of interest have included international law, commercial law, small business & entrepreneurship, real estate and personal finance.
