Marcus Wolfe, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Management in the Miller College of Business at Ball State University. Wolfe earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Business Administration, and Doctor of Philosophy from Indiana University, as well as a Master of Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  Wolfe’s research focuses on investigating the effects of entrepreneurial failure, the influence of emotions on cognition and subsequent decision making, as well as the use of corporate venturing for explorative/exploitative purposes. His teaching has focused on strategic management and leadership, corporate venturing, and entrepreneurship at both the individual and organizational levels.

Prior to pursuing a career in academia Wolfe was involved with founding or serving in a senior leadership position for a number of entrepreneurial firms in a wide variety of different industries. He began his career in the physical sciences, having served as a research and teaching assistant in the area of biochemistry, as well as having served as a technical sales representative for an international laboratory instrumentation firm.
