Copy Costs for Faculty Presentations at Conference
In some instances, a faculty member wants to take ten to twelve copies of his/her research paper to a conference where the paper will be presented. For this policy, the world "conference" is used to include all professional and academic occasions where a paper is needed. Generally, conference policy does not require any papers to be distributed, a faculty member can contact his/her department chairman who may authorize the maximum of ten copies of the paper to be reproduced and charged to the department budget. If a conference publishes a proceedings, no funding will be approved under this policy since a large distribution of the paper is unnecessary.
In some cases conference policy requires a distribution of 20, 30, 40 or more copies of a research paper, which may contain up to 40 pages. In these situations the copy costs will be paid by the dean's office. To qualify for this copy charge, the faculty member must present a written statement from the conference chairman stating this is a conference requirement. The number of copies to be reproduced will be limited to 50 with no more than a total of 2,000 pages. The associate dean will administer and approve all requests for funding under this policy.
