If you are interested in being a financial investment professional and pursuing certification as a chartered financial analyst (CFA), this option is the perfect choice. CFA certification is the global standard for measuring portfolio management and investment analysis competence and integrity.

In addition to the economics courses for the financial analyst option, the students are required to meet the Miller College of Business core requirements and take required finance, and accounting courses for the financial analyst option. You can look up the complete course requirements, economics course descriptions, and business core requirements in the Undergraduate Course Catalog. We strongly recommend that all economics majors take at least one course in calculus.

You’ll need a minimum of 120 credit hours for graduation. See all the requirements for baccalaureate degrees and the University Core Curriculum from the Undergraduate Course Catalog.
