  • Gain recognition of the contribution and value of scholastic achievement in the management discipline

Initiation and the awards banquet are held during the spring semester. Speakers are invited, and seminars are held periodically.

Membership by invitation. Members are business majors (other than economics) with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0. Membership includes students, faculty, and professionals.

Sigma Iota Epsilon was founded as a national honorary and professional fraternity of management students by the merger in 1928 of three management fraternities at the University of Illinois, the University of Texas, and Syracuse University. In 1964, Sigma Iota Epsilon affiliated with the Academy of Management as its student division. Both organizations seek to promote the professional status of management.
