Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management and Insurance

Earning accolades across the country, our risk management and insurance program provides you with an understanding of how risks are managed and financed in the business world, prepares you for a range of careers, and gives you a start toward earning professional designations.

Working in insurance means you help individuals or businesses manage risk against major loss and foresee risk problems. Or you may help people understand insurance needs and policy options.

Our risk management and insurance program—one of fewer than five dozen in accredited business schools in the United States—has garnered the appreciation of students and employers. Our program features the Center for Actuarial Science, Insurance, and Risk Management, an opportunity to pass Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) exams early, and close collaboration with very well-qualified faculty who are committed to insurance education.

As a major, you’ll learn:

  • how risk is managed by individuals and businesses
  • about life and health insurance, personal insurance, commercial insurance, insurance law, and risk management
