The Finance Society is a professional organization at Ball State University, dedicated to the exploration of the field of finance to assist in the professional, educational and social development of students into business leaders of the future. The focus of the organization is on finance, banking and investment. The opportunities open to finance students at Ball State University are only limited by their imagination and self-drive. The Society is dedicated to providing its members with networking skills, communication skills, team spirit, global awareness, professional and ethical consciousness. The goals are accomplished by sponsoring distinguished guest speakers, case competitions, site visits, and a multitude of social events. Students will also have an opportunity to develop and explore various leadership roles within the club. Leadership and community service is encouraged by working to obtain the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
· Promote the development of professional skills through activities such as resume writing, interviewing techniques, Facebook/LinkedIn.com workshops
· Promote the development of educational opportunities on matters relating to finance through activities such as guest speakers, interactions with educators, immersive trips, and competitions
· Promote the development of social skills and character through service to the community by performing community service and working towards the Presidential Volunteer Service Award Activities The association hosts speakers, discussions of current financial topics, investment club, etc. Eligibility Membership is open to any major and includes students, faculty, staff, and professionals.History The Finance Society was founded at Ball State University in 1975 on the premise that students need a place to cultivate their intellectual pursuits in a social environment.
