Larry W. Metzing has assembled a career that is distinguished by success across business and finance environments, including accounting, auditing, banking, and entrepreneurial ventures. His career began in 1970 with the public accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst before joining Indiana National Bank as director of internal audit, and then director of its commercial credit division and member of the Commercial Loan Committee.
His experience includes more than 25 years as an active intermediary of acquisitions and finance for clients throughout Indiana. In the early 1980s, he cofounded an entity initiating a roll up acquisition strategy to acquire, own, and operate, a group of Indiana nursing homes. In 1981, he cofounded Indiana Business Brokers Inc., which later merged with Sunbelt Business Advisors in Indianapolis. Metzing has also been an active investor or principal in several other businesses.
A member of the Indiana CPA Society since 1974, Larry served on its state board of directors, chaired several state committees, and has been president of the Indianapolis chapter. He also served on the board and as president of the Indiana CPA Educational Foundation. In 2005, Metzing was recognized by the Indiana CPA Society as its Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry.
A 1970 graduate of Ball State University, Metzing is also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Banking and holds numerous professional certifications. He is a CPA, Indiana real estate broker, certified internal auditor, and chartered bank auditor.
Over the years, Metzing has been an active alumnus having served as president of the Miller College of Business Alumni Board and continues his involvement as a member of both the Miller College Accounting Advisory Council and as a 20-year member of the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board. He has also been recognized as the Beta Alpha Psi Accountant of the Year, and in 2002, Metzing received the Miller College of Business Award of Achievement.
