Profile of Miller Scholar Applicants

There are no minimum requirements to apply for the Miller Scholarship or Miller Business Honors Program, other than being admitted to Ball State University with a declared business major. We take a comprehensive approach in reviewing individual applications. Be aware we expect high grades and test scores of our applicants, but we also expect much more. To gauge your potential for acceptance, it is helpful to consider the incoming characteristics of our current Miller Scholars:
• Average GPA (English, math, physical and social sciences, and foreign language only): 3.75
• Average SAT: 1300
• Average ACT: 28
• Significant record of Honors, AP/IB, and college dual-credit &/or transfer courses
• Notable student organization involvement, leadership experiences, community service, international travel, state & national competitions, and more

Motivation and Drive are primary characteristics of our honors students and key in being not only considered for, but also succeeding in our programs. We seek students who are inherently curious, who want to know the how and why of particular topics and are eager to give extra effort in pursuit of this knowledge. We are looking for students who desire active participation both in and out of the classroom; seek to build relationships with faculty & staff; strive to join and further develop a community of students and alumni; are driven to take full advantage of Honors Program, Miller College, and university opportunities; and give back to this program that supports them through the entire college process.
