The Ball State University School of Music, located in Muncie, Indiana, is comprised of nearly 500 students and over 70 full-time faculty members. It offers music degrees
at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is known for its wide and varied programs as well as national leadership in music education.
The School of Music will hold auditions in Taiwan on January 6, 2018

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Step 1: Apply to Ball State University
Undergraduate Applicants (bachelor’s degrees)
Graduate Applicants (master’s and doctoral degrees and artist diploma)
Step 2: Submit the School of Music’s Taiwan Audition Form
- Deadline to register for an audition is December 23, 2017
- Applicants will be notified of their audition time by December 25, 2017
Step 3: Audition for the School of Music
Audition Date: January 6, 2018
Audition Time: 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Audition Location: Taiwan Academy of Strings

Audition Repertoire Requirements:
A piano accompanist will not be provided. Singers are required to perform with an accompanist and must provide one on their own.
Percussion equipment will not be provided. Interested percussion applicants may mail a recorded audition (DVD) to the Ball State University School of Music, or submit a link to download audition videos from Youtube, Google Drive, or Dropbox.
SCHOLARSHIPS & ASSISTANTSHIPS
Undergraduate applicants will automatically be considered for music scholarships. These scholarships are based upon demonstrated musicianship, academic record, and ensemble needs in the School of Music.
Graduate students may apply for full and half assistantships in their area or in another area of the School of Music. Assistantships include a remission of the major part of tuition and fees. Graduate assistantship recipients are still required to pay about $1,500 each semester for remaining tuition costs and several university fees. Recipients also receive an annual stipend as follows:
- Master’s $7,000
- Artist Diploma $7,100
- Doctoral - $12,000
