Jim Rhinehart is a multifaceted composer, pianist, and educator active in both concert and commercial music. Jim holds degrees in theory and composition from Central Michigan University (BM) and Ball State University (DA), as well as a master's degree in music education from Florida State University. As a composer, Rhinehart has had works performed at numerous new music festivals, Electronic Music Midwest, the Electroacoustic Barn Dance, and the Society of Composers, Inc., District I/PARMA Recordings conference and festival. In addition, he recently had a commissioned work premiered at the 2013 American Choral Director's Association National Convention in Dallas.

As a commercial composer and arranger, Jim creates music for a number of attractions around the country, including Gaylord Hotels and Walt Disney World. He also performs as a keyboardist around the country at corporate and private events.

Jim teaches theory and composition at Ball State, as well as aural comprehension at Anderson University, and music appreciation and introduction to music theory at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. Jim has previously taught at the middle- and high-school levels, most recently at Dr. Phillips High School, a performing-arts magnet school in Orlando, Florida.

When not doing music, Jim enjoys charcuterie and fly fishing.
