University Choirs

Ball State University's choral program consists of five choirs with more than 200 students participating in the program. Both music majors and nonmajors are eligible to audition for the two select choirs, the Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir, with membership in the University Choral Union, Statesmen, and Women’s Chorus open to any singer without an audition.

The Chamber Choir and the Concert Choir are the main touring ensembles, with past performances throughout the state of Indiana, the United States, and Europe. The choirs have performed at state and divisional conventions of American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), Music Educators National Conference (MENC), and the Indiana Music Educators Association (IMEA).

Literature in all choirs is taken from all genres and style periods, with choral/orchestral works being frequently performed with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. Each ensemble, although different in scope, strives for the highest possible performance level to ensure that each singer will have an artistically rewarding experience.
