Larry McWilliams (Faculty Emeritus) will be inducted into the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation Hall of Fame on December 11, 2013. McWilliams joined the Ball State University School of Music faculty in 1970 as the Director of Jazz Studies. Larry McWilliams will be joining the ranks of such great jazz musicians as Slide Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, J. J. Johnson, Wes Montgomery and Al Cobine. Gene Markiewicz, president of the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation, remarked “Larry McWillliams was an obvious choice. If you look at his career and accomplishments, this was a no brainer.” Larry will be officially inducted as part of the Jazz Holiday Showcase at the Jazz Kitchen at 5377 N College Ave in Indianapolis. The event starts at 6 p.m. and admission is $25. To learn more about the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation and its work, visit http://indyjazzfoundation.org/.
