Environmental Management Concentration

A major in Natural Resources and Environmental Management (NREM) from Ball State University requires 60 or 61 credits, dependent on the choice of your NREM Major Concentration. The Concentration in Environmental Management ten (10) credits from the Environmental Management Core Concentration list and twenty four (24) credits selected from two of the three specialization Clusters offered.  A major in Natural Resources and Environmental Management is the perfect complement to the Ball State University Core Curriculum for Undergraduate Study.

Seeking a major in Natural Resources and Environmental Management with a minor in another discipline requires prior consultation and approval by an Academic Advisor or the NREM Departmental Chairperson. Twenty six (26) credit hours must be completed from the ten (10) NREM Core Foundational and Required Courses. Nine (9) credits must be completed from one of the two NREM Concentrations required course lists. Fifteen (15) credits must be completed within a single cluster within a Concentration. Plus a student must complete ten (10) credit electives of an approved minor.

These requirements became effective Fall semester 2010. Students are expected to consult frequently with their assigned Academic Advisors or with the Department Chairperson for approval of electives, minors, or substitutions, and should seek professional advice from Academic Advisors concerning career or internship questions.
