Land Management

The Land Management option focuses on soil conservation, land use planning, and reclaiming mined lands, sanitary landfills, and other disturbed sites. Your course work will center on soil science, resource management, related applications such as Geographical Information Systems, planning, and policy. There are career opportunities in federal and state agencies (e.g. Natural Resources Conservation Service and Dept. of Natural Resources Division of Soil Conservation), county soil conservation districts, the Bureau of Land Management, mined land reclamation, and consulting companies.
