Anna B. Binge Memorial Scholarship History: Mr.Robert R.Binge established this award in memory of his late wife.
Requirements: Applicants must be full-time students(juniors or seniors) with a major in nursing and a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Dr. Robert M. Butterfield Memorial Scholarship
History: This scholarship was created in 1968, originally for third year premed students from Delaware County. In 1973, it became a School of Nursing scholarship.
Requirements: Preference is given to students from Delaware County.

Geraldine Hansen Scholarship
History: This scholarship was created to honor the mother of Laura Hansen Dean, former Executive Director of the BSU Foundation and Director of Planned Giving. The children of Geraldine Hansen made the scholarship possible: Michael and Laura Hansen Dean; Richard and Linda Hansen Frary; David and Nancy Hansen Riordan; and Michael and Susan Saffer Hansen. Established in October 1990.
Requirements: Applicants must have completed sophomore year. Preference is given to students interested in direct patient care (rather than education or administration).

Lisa R. Poppleton and Poppleton Family Nursing Scholarship
History: This scholarship was established by Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Poppleton in memory of their daughter, Lisa, who died in a drowning accident June 11, 1983 at age 21.
Requirements: Applicants must be an undergraduate student who has completed their junior year in nursing. Must have at least a 2.75 GPA. Demonstrate a genuine concern and appreciation for all people. The following characteristics and qualities used by the Ball Memorial staff on Ward 4E to describe Lisa are paramount in the selection process:

Louise Spall Scholarship
Requirements: 3.0 or higher GPA. Full time student. For juniors and seniors. Competent, caring, and compassionate health care deliverer.

N.G. Gilbert Nursing Scholarship
Requirements: Applicants must be from Ball State nursing students.

Philomena M. Finding Scholarship
History: A $40,000 gift from a World War II nurse and her husband, Philomena "Fifi" and James Findling, establishes this School of Nursing scholarship. The scholarship encourages students in the field that Mrs.Findling practiced as a member of the Navy Medical Corps. A graduate of St.Like's School of Nursing in Pittsfield, MA she was the chief operating nurse at the Newport, RI Naval Hospital.
Requirements: Applicants must be Ball State nursing students, with preference given to juniors and seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference is also given to Daleville High School graduates.

Renewed Hearts Memorial Scholarship
History: This memorial was established in April 1987 by Renewed Hearts, Inc. of Muncie.
Requirements: Applicants must be full-time students, juniors or seniors, expressing an interest in cardiac care.

Ruth C. Myers Nursing Scholarship
History: This scholarship was established on October 4, 1979.
Requirements: Applicants must be full-time female students with leadership characteristics. Applicants may not receive any other Department of Nursing scholarships.

Sally C. Gibson Memorial
History: This scholarship was created and funded by Hamer and Phyllis Shafer, with additional contributions from the family and friends of Sarah (Sally) Catherine Gibson in November 1993. Mrs.Gibson was a Ball State alumnus with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She served as president of the BSU Nursing Alumni Association and was an active member of Sigma Theta Tau. Mrs.Gibson worked in critical care, the coronary care unit, and both inpatient and outpatient services. She especially loved the personal hands-on element of patient care.
Requirements: Applicants must be non-traditional students accepted by the Nursing Program with a minimum GPA of atleast 2.8. Preference is given to students interested in direct patient care. This award is renewable for a second year.

Sigma Theta Tau Award
Requirements: Beta Rho Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau: This award is given to a student member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and scholarships

Thelma Folkestad Scholarship
Requirements: At least 3.2 GPA. For juniors and seniors.
