You will begin your studies with an introductory course that focuses on the use of information technology in nursing practice, administration, education, and research. Next, you will complete the courses in the nursing core. Finally, you'll progress through the nursing core courses required for the master's as well as the focus area courses for the track you have chosen. All courses are completely online. You will arrange required clinical hours with preceptors in your community, subject to faculty approval, and in some cases will need to identify an appropriately qualified individual to serve as a clinical supervisor.
As you enter the master's program, the Graduate Advisor of the Master's Program will work with you on an individual basis to develop your initial plan of study for the chosen track. Your plan of study is flexible within certain limits, and you will have up to 6 years to complete the program.
Students in the program will need access to a computer with a high-speed Internet connection. In addition, all students in the program will need to be in possession of a webcam and microphone for use throughout the program. You will need these items for things including your orientation with the director, proctored tests, etc.
