Annual tuition costs for the nutrition and dietetics program vary, based on students’ residential status and course load.

If you are accepted into the nutrition and dietetics graduate program at Ball State, you’ll be eligible for any applicable financial aid. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply for a graduate assistantship within the Department of Nutrition and Health Science, which is a great way to get hands-on experience while saving money on tuition and earning extra income.

Financial Aid

Ball State offers excellent value to our students, but we also know that many students will benefit from financial aid. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships offers students an array of opportunities for financial support so they can achieve their dreams of completing a graduate degree and becoming a registered dietitian nutritionist.

Assistantships

Students pursuing a master's degree in nutrition and dietetics are invited to apply for a graduate assistantship. Assistantships, which require about 20 hours of work in the department per week, reward students with a stipend and a partial tuition remission for each academic year. To apply, submit the completed application by March 1.

  • Research. The graduate assistant provides help to nutrition and health science faculty in all aspects of research, including the development and implementation of community health and nutrition programs and helping faculty in data collection and other research activities
  • Worksite Wellness Counseling. Registration-eligible candidates provide nutrition assessment, counseling, and education (individual and group) as part of the University’s Working Well worksite wellness program.
  • Quantity Foods Laboratory. This graduate assistant is the second-in-command of the quantity foods lab, which includes a student-operated restaurant. Responsibilities include preparing and setting up food labs, ordering or buying food, and working with undergrad students in meal service.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for Ball State dietetic interns during supervised practice rotations. Check out the Dietetic Scholarship page for more information, and to download the application.
