For the 12-hour graduate level certificate in public administration, you will choose from four of the six courses that form the master’s of public administration core. One course will be offered each semester. Courses do not need to be taken in a particular order.

The following courses are 3 credit hours each. You will need to take four. Course rotation is as follows:

Fall Courses

  • POLS 650: Public Administration (offered on the main campus in Muncie, Indiana)
  • POLS 652: Personnel Administration in Government (offered at the Ball State Indianapolis Center)

Spring Courses

  • POLS 642: Problems in Public Policy (offered at the Ball State Indianapolis Center)
  • POLS 648: Policy Analysis (offered at the Ball State Indianapolis Center) 
  • POLS 651: Administrative Organization and Management (offered at the Ball State Indianapolis Center)

Summer Courses

  • POLS 653: Public Financial Administration (to be offered online beginning in 2015)
