In addition to his teaching duties, Jeffrey Petersen is graduate program director of the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation and serves as coordinator of the graduate sport management program at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He has coached and taught sport management in several collegiate settings and is former coordinator of the undergraduate program in sport administration at Ball State.

An active researcher, Petersen’s work has appeared in more than 45 peer-reviewed journal manuscripts, and he has made more than 90 refereed presentations at state, national, and international conferences. His primary areas of research include sport facility design and management, sport management curriculum and pedagogy, interscholastic sport sponsorship, and the Youth Olympic Games. He earned his Ph.D. in sport administration from the University of New Mexico.

Petersen’s resume also includes stints as teacher, coach, athletic director, and NMAA (New Mexico Activities Association) district chair at the high school level.
