In August 2013 USA Track and Field (USATF) appointed Larry Judge the national chairman of coaching education through 2016. USATF is the national governing body for track and field, long-distance running, and race walking in the United States.

“Naturally, I’m quite honored to be selected for such a position by my peers,” says Judge. “I’ve worked with USATF in the past and it’s just a great organization.”

Judge was USATF chair of throwing events from 1999 through 2011.

Judge served as the personal coach for Jeremy Campbell, gold medal discus thrower, at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Just prior to the Games’ closing ceremonies, Campbell presented Judge with the Order of Ikkos, a medal which honors American coaches whose athletes medal at the Olympic or Paralympic Games.

The medal pays tribute to Ikkos, the first recorded Olympic coach in Ancient Greece and who coached two athletes to gold in the pentathlon.
