Emerging Media Journalism Courses

Credit Participants

With this option, the academic credit you earn in the emerging media journalism courses may apply toward a bachelor's degree program at Ball State or potentially transferred to other colleges and universities. Plus, your course work will appear on an official Ball State transcript.

If your employer is paying for your courses, many employers will reimburse you only if the course is for academic credit, so make sure to check with your human resources office about your company's rules.

To take these classes for credit, you need to determine which of the two application processes is meant for you:

  • If you are a U.S. citizen: You must first be admitted to Ball State. Learn about our admission requirements and how to apply. If you are accepted, you will be sent information about how to register for specific emerging media courses you wish to take.
  • If you are a U.S. high school student: You will need to have permission of your high school counselor, principal, or a teacher to enroll in this program. Please contact Program Director Mary Spillman for more information.
  • If you are an international student: You must apply through the university's international admissions office.
