Transferring Credits

Transferring Credits Into Ball State
If you are transferring from an Indiana college or university, Transfer Indiana has the most comprehensive information from approximately 40 Indiana colleges and universities to help you learn if credits you earned at another institution will transfer to Ball State. Additional information about transfer credit or out-of-state transfers need to be discussed with your academic advisor.

If you are pursuing a bachelor's degree from Ball State, at least 30 of the last 40 credit hours you earn must be from Ball State. For an associate degree, you must complete at least 15 of the last 20 credit hours from Ball State. Graduate programs often do not accepted credits from other schools. We recommend that you talk with your academic advisor or the Graduate School.

If you want to transfer to Ball State, you will also need to go through the admissions process.

Transferring Credits Out of Ball State
Colleges and universities, even those in Indiana, may or may not accept Ball State courses that you wish to transfer to another school. Before enrolling in a Ball State course that you want to transfer elsewhere, consult the registrar or admission's office of the school that is to accept the credits to ensure the course's transferability. After successfully competing the course(s), you can order a transcript from the registrar's office.
