About the Division of Online and Distance Education

The Division of Online and Distance Education is responsible for providing student services for the nearly 10,000 students who take online and distance education classes each year from Ball State University.

Plus, we provide administrative support to faculty, administrators, and staff who are teaching and supporting more than 60 online degrees and certificates and approximately 500 online undergraduate and graduate courses.

We also provide support services to students and faculty teaching at Ball State centers in Indianapolis and Fishers, IN.

We work in close collaboration with another Academic Affairs unit, iLearn: Integrated Learning Institute, which serves the instructional design and technology learning needs of faculty members developing and teaching online or blended courses. Both iLearn and the Division of Online and Distance Education report to Jennifer Bott, the assistant vice president for learning initiatives.

All of our academic programs and courses are developed and taught by faculty within Ball State’s 48 academic departments.
