National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education Elects New Officers

Judge Assumes Leadership as NCACE President

SAVANNAH, GA., JUNE 19, 2010

Following the completion of the National Coaching Educators Conference, Lawrence Judge, PhD, CSCS, started his term as association President of the National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE). Dr. Judge, a long-time track and field coach, is an associate professor and coordinator of the graduate coaching program at Ball State University.

"It is quite an honor to be chosen by my colleagues for this leadership position," said Dr. Judge. "I am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges this new position will bring, and I am confident in my abilities to serve and lead the organization."

Founded in 2000, The National Council for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) is a non-profit organization, that promotes and facilitates coaching competence within all levels of amateur sports by overseeing and evaluating the quality of coaching education programs. In addition, NCACE endorses comprehensive standards for sport practitioners, including: volunteer, interscholastic, collegiate, and elite coaches. Through accreditation, NCACE provides leadership and guidance to coaching education providers, sport administrators, and the public regarding the knowledge, values, and skills of effective coaches.
